This machine I saved from the scrapheap as the only issue with it was a blocked pump apart from the current condition of the cabinet

I have two of these. One was giving trouble so it went into retirement for a few years till I eventually scrounged one for spare parts ( spares machine has a broken drum mount.) Of course once the second one arrived the first one started to behave...
These are a great little machine, I have repair manuals if you need help. (They are online.) They were Choice's number 1 rated machine when tested but stupidly expensive when new - about $1800. Parts are available online but very expensive.
The dispenser in the lid unclips, press the buttons in on each side. Chances are it needs a clean inside - my two were filthy when acquired. Also you can lift the edge of that grey seal around the top, you will find some stainless steel screws underneath, then you can pull out the hard plastic inner liner to reveal what is probably a disgustingly filthy rubber bellows. The plastic liner stops you seeing the bellows but stuff grows up in there. Guess how I know...

The only thing I found wrong with this machine
Is that there was a small twig that got past the pump filter and lodged itself in the pump apart from that everything else works perfectly

The seal will be unobtainable in Australia. Or amazingly expensive...
I have removed my seal, I plan to drown it in bleach and leave it in a heavy plastic bag for a few days.
I will never get rid of the stains, but at least I can kill the mould. Once the plastic shroud is back in place you won't ever see it again...

Thick Bleach
I’m not sure if you have “Thick Bleach” in Australia - chlorine with surfactants abs soap/ detergent combined. I’ve cleaned doorseals in a very similar state to this several times by soaking it in a full 750ml bottle of thick bleach mixed with just enough water to cover the seal. After 24 hours there won’t be a mould mark on it at all.
If you don’t have thick bleach I would suggest you scrub it first using a cream cleaner like Jif to get the worst of it off then soak fully covered in a neat solution of thin chlorine bleach/ white knight bleach for 24 hours.
You may be able to get thick bleach in UK import shops?

That type of top loader is quite popular in France due to the space-saving design. You can even get a matching top-loading dryer to go with them.
If you google around for 'joint de port' (door seal in French) and Brandt machine a laver top, you will likely find the replacement seal. Or, also the term "soufflet de chargement" (literally loading bellows)

Running this seal thru a dishwasher with chlorinated detergent won’t make a difference. It takes 24 hours constant contact with a very strong solution.
