Picked some up today. It has a nice, pleasant scent that's not too nauseating, and I noticed that it's finer in consistency than Tide or Gain.

I fixed the White-Westy's knocking problem today (loose tub drive pulley; you really have to torque those babies up!) and finished cleaning it, so I decided to wash a blanket (that I used to move the appliances to prevent any more scratching) with Bold. I added too much and it oversudsed (machine did not want to spin), resulting in me literally "shoveling" suds out of the tub. After 2 rinses it was fine, and the blanket came out clean. Bottom line: Use it sparingly in a front-loader, especially a Westinghouse, LOL.

I highly recommend it for its cleaning ability; that blanket was DIRTY and came out SPOTLESS.

Hi Austin, Next time you have way to many suds just try adding a capful of Downey. Works every time for me in the Westinghouse.

OK, I'm confused. What is this new Bold? Are you talking about Bold Plus? Or is there something newer? If you mean Bold Plus - sure isn't new and it is very tough to find. Only one store in my area ever has it and not all the time. In fact, I thought it might be discontinued since I haven't seen it in a while.......

Bold!!!

I'm using the UK version of Bold at the moment... probably a different formula but sure smells nice... Didn't know it was available in the USA too! Is it P&G owned?

Jon

Yes, the Bold brand has been around since 1965 here in the states. However, P&G has allowed the brand to become very stale - NO advertising, very few stores even carry it. It is available in only the powder version - the liquid was discontinued some years ago.

P&G has focused all of its energy and advertising on the Tide, Gain and Cheer brands - each of which has more than several liquid and powder versions available. Tide has at least 12, Cheer has 4, and Gain has 8. Of course Bold here will probably go the way of the Dash, Duz and Oxydol brands - P&G let them die slow deaths then discontinued them, just as Lever has done with Rinso, Breeze, Silver Dust, Drive and Surf as well as Colgate has done with Punch, Cold Power, Ad and Burst The Oxydol brand was however bought by a company called Redox brands and has been reintroduced to the market - with very limited success. Just as well as far as I am concerned. If I can't have the original Oxydol, then anything else is a pale imitation.

While at the supermarket today, I noticed that most of the shelf space was Tide and Gain and mostly liquid. Just dreadful......

Bold Advertising

Bold advertise quite heavily on TV over here... they've also recently brought out a new Lavendar and Camomile fragrance, although I prefer Ocean Breeze myself. I must admit it is very kind to my skin, softer than Fairy which is supposed to be the kindest enzyme-free detergent to skin. Ironic, seeming as enzyme free Fairy made me itch, whilst Bold which includes enzymes doesn't...

Anyway have linked you to Bold's UK website, to a page that has all the current commercials they run here at the moment :-).

Take care,

Jon
