Have you heard the news thats going round? Seamus Seamus has gone and found...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Kool looking machine. Congratulations on your find! Love the color of the tub!

I'm curious about that pulsator. Just how does the machine effectivly use the pulsator? If the axis of the tub never changes, it must get quite a full tub of water for the pulsator to be usable. Does the pulsator alternate direction of rotation? Does the tub also reverse-tumble?
It it a "tangler"?

Hoses

Nathan.....

Im impressed- do you do international sales ;)

Mike

I was going to wrap it in the tape you use for repairing car radiator hoses. Did a search on the net and came up with this- looks ideal, what do you think???

Seamus

P.s Ive ordered a door gasket which I think looks kinda promising- will come tomorrow and will let you know how it goes :)

Hi Mike,

The pressure hose has a larger external diameter, but fits tightly over the nub on the pressure dome.

I've assumed that the volume of the sump wont affect the pressure switches as the pressure seems to be actuated by the height of the water in the dome and tube 629299, I will shorten it more when its installed.

The hardest part was installing the nub to attach the pressure hose to. With some plumbers tape there was still a slight drip around the brass component, so in the end I've just resorted to silicone to seal it up.

Steve, the axis of the tub changes as it fills with water. The tub can actually drop at the rear by 3-4 inches when full.

Hopefully you'll find a new boot :)

Wow, what a great machine. I'd love to see the pulsator action working, I can't really imagine what it's like. Does the tub fill to the top during pulsator action or does it just fill up above the pulsator. If the latter is true the action must be very strange to see, the clothes wouldn't really go round properly I'd imagine

So if the tub drops down four inches, it is nearly vertical. That explains how it works, then as I don't see any baffles attached to the tub---so I assumed it would not tumble the clothes in any event.

There are still Tub baffles

The machine tumbles and pulsates at the same time.

I'll try and make a movie once its up and running, however there is a mechanical brake in addition to the electric door switch, so I'll have some disabling to do before its possible to see inside.

Dear Mike and Dear All,

here attached you find a scheme about the spares we need. We cannot find any part in the repair centres anymore, and so we would try to make them new. For this reason we need your help to gain all the information to build them (or almost try to). I know that is not simple to measure all the data useful for us (e.g. the torsion of the spring, which is quite necessary), but almost try to give us the measures of single pieces (included the number of spires of the spring).
It’s a hard work for us, but on the other hand is also interesting and stimulating. Please anyone help us, if possible!

PS: we also would appreciate if someone posts a scanner image of page 3 and 4 of the repair manual, if possible; the ones concerning the control panel.

Thank you all in advance for the collaboration!
Bye
Ric and Seb.

Congratulations!...that's a nice find.

I hope you get a suitable boot and good luck with the restoration...can't wait for the 'after' pics!

Door gasket

Hey guys

Im not having much luck as all the ones ive tried are way too big on the tub:(- im thinking along the lines of leaving the original ridged section on the tub and clamping a slightly trimmed new gasket under the clamp band(after cutting the bit that would normally attach to the tub off the new gasket- any thoughts??

Seamus

Door Gasket

That sounds worth trying Seamus, christ if i ever get one of these i would be willing try anything to get it up and running, I like a challenge
