My new frigidaire frontload washer came home today and I love it.When I went to buy I didn't stop to think that I have twins on the way and can't ever remember seeing baby detergent for HE washers. Can someone please help me

Thank You
Mr washer

I've noticed that liquid detergents tend to be more gentle than powders, so you might try one of those. There are also dye and fragrance free HE liquids which might work well as "baby detergents".

The important thing is to rinse out all the detergent. If you get a good front loader with an extra rinse option perhaps this will work well. You can also try adding a little white distilled vinegar to the last rinse to help get rid of any residual alkalinity. That might allow you to use a good HE free and clear powder. I think powders wash better than liquids, in general.

I recently noticed that all of the Method line has gone "HE compatable", including their baby detergent. I also noticed that most of the Seventh Generation line is HE, including baby. I have not tried either of these though. I've used the regular HE Method, in the past, and found it acceptable. I use many of their other products with success.
A while back when I called Unilever about the amount of OBA's in All HE, the customer service person told me that the line of All products is low sudsing and could be used in a front load, regardless of designation. My machine will over suds if you look at it wrong, so I haven't tested this.
I'm currently experimenting with Ecover liquid on my darks, because of the lack of OBA's and so far like it, it's very lightly scented. I've only done a few loads with it though. Ecover powder is unscented, not as effective as Tide, etc. but on most things works fine. Hope this helps, Todd

I don't care for the baby detergents, and in fact, the pediatricians and dermatologists do not recommend them.

IMO the best products to use on baby laundry are All Free and Clear (powder only) and Purex Free and Clear (liquid only).

If you have an HE machine, and/or rinsability is extra important to you, I'd recommend Tide Free HE liquid (only).

I'd use the Tide Free HE..When i took care of my nephew after hurrican Ivan, Francis and Jean in 2004, he broke out if i used Deft or Ivory SNow..But he seemed to do ok with Tide or All...
