Did a few minor repairs on a friend's 14-years-old HE3t pair over the weekend while visiting in DFW area.

The set was given to him a few years ago so I don't know what's the previous repair history, if any.

Washer (42nd week of 2002):  water valve had started dripping into the tub, so changed that.  Had some kind of funky/wrong drain hose that was 95% collapsed flat and pushed too far into the standpipe, changed that.  Acceptably clean of mold/scum, bearings sound good, pump good, no evidence of spider trouble (without disassembly to view directly).

Dryer (47th week of 2002):  had been throwing a thermistor fault, so changed that.  The door handle was cracked when he got it, so changed that and reversed the door swing.  One drum roller was a bit gummy and chattering so cleaned it and lightly oiled all of them.  The exhaust ducting was too long so shortened it.

Good to go.

I,ve got one-mid 2001 build, bought it for $40 in "as is/needs repair"condition:PO had replaced a bunch of parts in attempt to repair a condition where washer would fill halfway up the window, stop and throw a code. The original parts replaced were included with the washer but the only one obviously bad was the drain pump-it was totally shot,The other problem that was the cause of the malfunction was pressure switch line had came unclipped, flopped around and got a hole worn in it :)Like this washer a lot,and it is in permanent DD lineup.bought the matching dryer, but have not hooked it up yet. Washer made in Germany,Dryer made in USA :)
