Heads up! '59 LK Washer on Ebay!!!!!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Sorry, not good with model dates. Just took the seller's word for it. All I can say is, whether its a '59 or '60, it's in beautiful shape on the outside. Hopefully there's nothing major wrong with it on the inside. I just wish it was closer. Maybe someone will snatch it up.

I think this owner posted a thread or two aobut this washer when he found it. It was about the time Greg found his dryer and Greg also posted those Sear Catalogue pages.

1959

The model for sale on ebay is a 1959 Lady Kenmore. In 1960, this became the model "80" and the Lady Kenmore had more features and different styling on the panel. I have the 1960 LK set.

This looks like a very nice washer - at least the "foundation" sounds pretty good and it could be a fantastic machine with a little work. John Lefever has a set of these - he had the dryer and I think Peter found the 59 LK washer in Atlanta..

This is the 1960 pair:

Interesting! I recognized the Ebay machine immediately as a 1959, but the 1960 Lady Kenmore set pictured by Greg makes me wonder even more about that 1960 model that appears occasionally as a picture of the day and claims to have an automatic water level. Could they have changed it twice in one year? If memory serves, that POD one has the "new style" cabinet, so maybe it came out closer to 1961, assuming 1960 was the last year of the old cabinet.

Scott, that was the 1961 Lady Kenmore that touted the automatic water level in the advertising. Looking at the service info from Sears and talking with those who have worked on machines for many years yields no additional information about how it worked. There is nothing in the service info I read about that automatic system at all. All this might lead one to believe that it was in the catalog, but never made it to the actual machines... A big, fat lie ;-) From Sears?? Noooooooo! Couldn't be!

San Diego/Palm Springs

This did stay in the club. Harvest gold from SD/PS won the auction. A beautiful machine to add to the collection for sure.
