I don't know if anyone posted this yet. Quite a bargain. Remember the GSD1200 got a higher rating in Consumer Reports than the GSD2800 electronic. (Probably because the GSD1200 has three final rinses, the GSD2800 has two.)

It's great as it is, but I had one once and modified it by putting a selective drain pump on it (to reduce dirty water carry-over between fills) and it became the nearly perfect dishwasher.

Barry, I want to correct a misnomer here. I had a GSD122 for 20 years. I generally used Light soil cycle cuz it was like most other's normal cycle at the time. It only had two post-wash rinses and did excellent. The 3rd rinse on Normal and PotScrubber was a partial fill like on china/crystal. On the 2800, the heavfy soil button DID add a 3rd rinse, not simply 5 minutes to the cycle. I looked up an online users manual to confirm this. Incidentally, the last version of the 1200 renamed Light Soil Normal and Normal became Heavy soil. I think I used Normal Cycle 3 times in those 20 years. I figured if I needed Normal, it might as well be PS cuz of the extreme intense baked on food. My light soil took care of oatmeal bowls sitting for over a week. And incidentally, my new Kenmore Elite cleans just as well on Normal cycle

Bob is absolutely correct on that one!

Bob, did you ever used to use the Power Scrub cycle on the GSD1200? How did it do with really ugly stuff? My 1977 Potscrubber used to do a fabulous cleaning job, but without the filtration system, used to redeposit some of those nasty yibbles on the glasses. Despite the fact it had the dreaded tower, it really could clean just about anything, and it was as reliable as any dishwasher could ever be. It's still going after 30 years with no repairs. It had a 24 minute unheated pre-wash, and a 31 minute heated main wash on the Power Scrub cycle, with 2 rinses after the first wash, and three rinses after the second wash. Loved that dishwasher!
