Hi, am not having much success online finding a replacement heating element for my recently-acquired Whirlpool dryer model LFE5800Y0, serial M71902377. Anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Todd - I came up with the same thing Laundress did, but used my 1992 Whirlpool repair parts reference catalog. At that time, for the LFE 5800 group of dryers, the element was part number 279698, which now subs to 4391960, exactly as Laundress' link suggests.
This is a very active part, and fits most 29-inch dryers made from the 70s to the 90s. This should be available at any appliance parts store, at all online parts suppliers, and on Amazon and eBay. The best part is they are very affordable because so many are sold as compared to lower volume or more obscure elements.
Will be looking forward to hearing how this works out.

Thank you Launderess and Kenmoreguy64 for your wisdom and guidance. Am finally finding some time to play with acquisitions sitting idle in my new washroom. Based upon the dryer model number, can anyone venture a year? I just did a maiden wash in the matching "twin" washer this past weekend. Gotta love the action of a Whirlpool Surgilator!
