HELP, I did something stupid...

ok, after multiple repairs I finally gave up on my late 80's model 24 inch Kenmore washer. I ordered a lovely and beautiful twin tub, which I am fully enamored with, as I owned one years ago and loved it dearly, and it was on sale putting it in reach of my tiny budget. Now for the issue.. My twin tub is not a portable. Its heavy, has no wheels, and is meant for permanent installation. It also happens to be 32 inches wide... This means my 30 inch kenmore dryer will not fit in the space next to it. Ive racked my brains trying to find a 24 inch dryer, but all Ive found were both very expensive, and very small. They would only dry half a load from my twinnie at a time. Any advice guys?

Not trying to insult your intelligence, but let's start

Are you sure there were no wheels in the installation package in the carton? If it was on sale because it was a floor model, they might have neglected to install the wheels. Were no wheels listed on the packing slip? Does any of the literature mention a portability kit? Have you checked with the manufacturer or dealer to see if wheels are available? I thought that like wringer washers, these were always mobile.

Why don't you park it end ways instead of sideways? If you put the spinner end closest to the wall, you would have access to the wash tub side for loading and transferring to the spinner. This would allow space for the hoses beside the machine unless they are on the wrong side of the machine. If that is unworkable because it sticks out too far, you could make a platform with wheels or casters on it for the washer so that it is a portable, but you are going to have to find a place to park it when it's not in use.

Twin Tub

Did you get a Danby? What make did you purchase? The Danby has integrated wheels that are not (easily) removable. I'm more curious what kind and where you obtained it. I see that you are in KY. The machine should at least have holes in the bottom for the wheels, a quick trip to Tractor Supply or like store could turn up a caster that would fit.

Actuall its a Daewoo, from Australia. Unfortunately even after checking with the manufacturer, a portability kit isnt available. Turning it sideways might be an option, though it would mean cramming myself in a fairly small space to do laundry. Not sure how well that would work. (washer and dryer sit in an alcove type laundry area with folding doors). Here is a link to the pdf of the manual. Its actually a really great washer, and larger than the older twin tubs that are set up for portability.
