I bought a Hotpoint range Cat. No. 309RD26, s/n 9970824 and am trying to find out more about it. It doesn't have the deep fryer but it does have the griddle.
I'm trying to find out what year it was made, whether anyone has a complete wiring diagram (this ones missing some big pieces). I haven't plugged it in but the guy that sold it to me said it works. The plug is three prong with 2 diagonal blades and a semi-round post. Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. Here's a really poor picture. I haven't cleaned off the tape sticky yet where the burners were taped down & the doors were taped shut. I hope to have it cleaned up and in operation by spring and I'll post some better pictures then.Let me know if anyone knows where I can get an electrical diagram. Thanks again!

1957

The RD26 was the TOL 39-inch model for 1957.  A list of the features reads as follows:

"A Hotpoint automatic electric range increases the value of every home.  There is a model to fit every building design with all the deluxe features the homemaker expects including:

MUSICAL MEAT THERMOMETER... Fills the kitchen with lilting music when the roast is done, to order.

TWO-WAY SUPER-MATIC CALROD UNIT... New surface and deep well unit that cooks automatically with both time and temperature control, as either a 6-inch or an 8-inch unit.

PUSHBUTTONS... Cooking by pushbutton control is easier cooking.  Every Hotpoint Range has them.

SILVER GREY OVENS... Giant Super Oven cooks meals for 24, roasts 40-lb turkey.  Thrift Oven provides additional capacity or can be used for small meals.  Finger-tip pull-out Calrod units make cleaning easy.  Linings are finished in new silver grey all porcelain enamel.

ROTA-GRILL ROTISSERIE... Country-style outdoor cooking in the kitchen.  Available on 39 and 30 inch models.

"FASHION FRONT" STYLING... Graceful, new modern design that makes every kitchen look more beautiful."

The catalog sates that 'Color is the big news today" and lists these "decorator approved" colors:  Coral Pink, Sunburst Yellow, Meadow Green, Seafoam Blue, Woodland Brown.

There is a new combination washer-dryer.

There is a freestanding "Hotpoint Electronic Cooking Center" in a wood-finished cabinet, available in either light birch or dark mahogany.  Can fit both customized and free-standing installations.  "Below the electronic compartment is the world famous all-Calrod Thrift Oven featuring Calrod Golden Bake and Broil Units."

What lights up on this unit? I see some color above the buttons...it's got all the bells and whistles alright! Congrats and take more photos when you're ready and post. :-) Thanks!

If you're ever interested

If you ever decide to sell the griddle or the giant well unit, I would be more then happy to pay very good money for them!
Those are the 2 pieces missing off of our 1958 Hotpoint Customline Supermatic & I would love to have them!
