Hello,

This was my grandmother's washer and dryer. I am curious as to the make/model? Unfortunately I cannot make it out on the photo. I am really curious as the year this set was made. Perhaps someone can help me out. Much appreciated.

They are Fridgiscares...

Possibly from late 80s. I am also wondering what the plumber might have been using was when he installed the pipes for the washer and laundry tub.

Definitely WCI built Frigidaires - the dryer door gives it away as WCI- also from the little door below the loading door, looks like a gas dryer. Not sure of the year, though, but I would also guess late 1980's - early
1990's.

White Consolidated Industries began as White Manufacturing company in 1858, then White Sewing Machine Company in 1876.  It became White Consolidated Industries in 1964 after gathering in various appliance companies such as Gibson and Philco.  GM sold Frigidaire to WCI in 1979.

Electrolux of Sweden bought WCI in 1986.

Had Horizon 2000 set...

I wanted to avoid trips to the laundromat. The man moving out of the rental offered his set for $300. Unless your grandmother was deaf she would've heard that dryer cycle end signal buzzer ANYWHERE in the house! It was horribly loud. On our set the sound couldn't be turned off. The washer didnt really wash? More like stir and swish clothes. We sold the set two years later for $250. Ours had this agitator like this video...

I do remember the dryer being extremely loud. What is with the indexing tub? Did this eventually set in like Speed Queen? The clothes don’t seem to be rolling over.

My childhood friend growing up had this washer. They were a family of 6 and all involved in sports. I remember the mom picking up a big pile of clothes and stuffing it in the washer. I can still remember the stupid lid lock on the spin and the Era detergent with bounce dryer sheets!
