GE WASHER WASHER OIL LEAKS

GE washers have always had more than thier share of oil leaks from transmissions including the current 1995 and on plastic tub washers. I have been an appliance repairman for more than 40 years and have never bothered to fix a leaky transmission. You can buy a remanufactured transmission with a 1 year warranty for less than $100 dollars, and its easy to install on a filter flow washer.

Rebuild/ remanufactered tranny...

Hi, yes i have understand that it is a common problem with all GE washers, new and old.
About getting a remanufactered tranny it probably would be the best thing to do, of course, but as i've already wrote it is very expensive to get one here in Italy...... so i would prefer to try to replace the shaft seal first, if i will have not success with this, i can always take in consideration to get a transmission and try to replace it.
