Hi! Club People, I'm helpingone of my Neighbor's next Week, with his Maytag Dryer, Model #DE-412. I'm going to be giving it an Annual "PM" Cleaning out of the Lint and to try and check the Timer. He told me that he claims that he has set it for 40-minutes, goes out a little while later and the Timer is still at 40-minutes. I asked him if he knows if the Auto Dry is operating all right and he told me that he didn't know for sure. He does have a Care-Giver Woman who normally for the past few years has been doing the Cooking Housework and Laundry for my Neighbor, but I'm not sure where she sets the Dryer for the Laundry Drying.

I've tried to check on the Repair-Clinic, Maytag and Sears, to try to see if either had just the Timer Motor available. I could only get onto the Repair-Clinic {due to still being on dial-up, unable to change to dsl or broadband} so I'm very limited, unless I'm at a Friends or my Neighbors to check certain items out. By the way, Repair-Clinic sells the Timer with Timer Motor for $130.00.

I would gratefully appreciate it if someone knows where I might be able to locate just a Timer Motor, or would I have to replace the Timer and Timer Motor? Whatever I'm going to need to do, I've got to do right away, because I know that my Neighbor doesn't want to worry about this taking too long and I already know and I don't blame him, for not planning to replace his Dryer. He does happen to have the matching Maytag Washer as well. They are the Dark Brown Control Panel, with the White Selector Buttons and Timer Dial Knob.

Thank you everyone, I look forward in hopefully hearing from someone real soon, with some help info for getting my Neighbors Dryer operating properly again.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

Maybe Midwest Timer can help - they may be able to replace or if necessary, repair the motor (but that may take a lot of time).
Hope this helps!

Thank you Guys:

I'm very appreciative of your help and suggestions. I checked out the E-Bay listed Timer, but unless I'm reading something wrong, it sounded like it was a Rebuilt Timer. I'm not objecting to looking into a Rebuilt Timer, but there was something else mentioned about being careful with certain items listed like these.

Consumers Beware !!!!!!

Beware of low-quality after market knock off parts because you may have to replace them after only a short period of time, causing you to spend more than you would have if you just bought quality OEM and FSP rated pre-owned parts. These parts can even damage your appliance.

Buy OEM and FSP pre-owned appliance parts only from trusted dealers. They will disclose information on what the condition of the part really is and advise you accordingly.

Should an original replacement part be discontinued by the manufacturer, and no quality pre-owned parts are available, that is the time to look for an after-market or universal replacement part.

I do still need to wait until my Neighbor returns from his Travels for Thanksgiving, to see what he wants to do for sure. I'm just the "Ol-Lonely" Repairman...

Peace and a late Happy Thanksgiving wish to everyone, Steve
