I have an old Kenmore 110.20882990 that works just fine (So I hate to mess with it!) But I KNOW the basket is really corroded and rusty, and the tub is disgusting and needs a thorough cleaning. Never been apart it's entire life, and I REFUSE to get rid of it!
So before I start ripping this apart, I'd like to try and have the parts I need on-hand. Plan to replace any thing that's a wear part. And you guys know this stuff way better than I. I'm mechanical, but not a washer repair man in that I know what I need.
First, going to replace the basket (Porcelain) with a stainless steel. Part number for the porcelain is W10389328 I believe. SS (Which is also $100 cheaper?!) is W10006327.
Clutch is part number 285785.
Coupling is part number 285753A.
I see a centerpost bearing and seal assembly (285203). Thinking I want to replace whatever I can in the centerpost area as it's pretty tired.
Also thinking a new spanner nut (And tool) as it looks corroded and not sure I want to reuse.
What else should be ordering? I'd rather replace too much than not enough!
Thanks for the help!
