Hi everybody,

I got an Easy Spindrier this weekend..the kind with 4 gray levers..and a missing timer knob :) and the top levers work fine and it agitates and spins..but the bottom two..,ugh..the left is stuck on fill, and the right (spinner) is stuck on drain..I can live with that because its really stuck and it just means i can't deep rinse.. but the tub side, that one is stuck on fill so I can do wash, but not drain it. The pump works fine as it pumps water out of spinner great. So, i tried the hot water but no go. i can slide it part way over so i keep doing that hoping it will loosen and pop over but so far, i only have very sore thumbs. (The spinner side barely budges, pretty much gave up on that). So, now that I've played with it and have some water in it, i really don't want to tip it. Can anyone tell me where i should shoot some W/d or something?

Please ask questions if you don't understand what i'm talking about...i have that effect on people.

and..boy....these washers are addicting... i got a wringer a few months ago and will never go back.. i've turned into an antique appliance craigslist junkie!

I hope I don't sound stupid, but is there any way to access the cables besides the bottom? do i have to lay it down? Btw,thanks for responding :D I really want to get it going.

Yea Tazor is friends with everyone, he's a little over a hundred pounds so its a good thing, haha

..I tipped my spindrier over..and you can't see too good, but it looks like its a rod that goes from the lever to the pump with some linkage and a spring..anyway, long story longer, i sprayed everything (w/d40)a few hours ago and it didnt help a bit. I think its the spring thats froze, but i dont know. I cant see taking things apart from the bottom in order to access the connection so..im thinking of getting someone i know with freakishly strong shrek like hands .. when i push it, it feels like its springing back, so maybe it needs a little more force..idk..

spindryer

I would be careful forcing it. I bought one a few months ago and it was stuck similarly to what you describe. In my case it was the flappers inside of the pump. They had "welded" in there positions by old soap. I took out the pump (not an easy job with limited room to work in there), then opened it up. I soaked it liberally with penetrating oil and kept tring to move the parts several times a day. after a few days they started moving. A little more cleaning and it began working like new. The next step was even harder- putting it back in and reconnecting it. Happy to say all is working like new, except for the timer which I never could get working. JEB

Oh, alright...I can do that...I would love to get it working right..everything else works like new. Thank you for letting me know. Can you tell me if i will need to take the whole pump out? On my other wringer there was a clamp that held the bottom on. Will this entail removing other parts to get it out? Do I need to mess with the belt? Yikes!

pump

Yes you will need to take the pump out. You will also need to unhook the cables that control the flappers in the pump. It can be done but it's not easy. Then you have to reattach everything, which I think is harder. Someone else might know a better way but I did everything from the bottom with the machine laying on its side. JEB

I'm told to recruit help tipping it over (to get at the bottom). The legs are adequately sturdy in the vertical direction; less so at any off-vertical angle. Also that forcing the plastic levers has a gnarly tendency to break them. We often see these machines with one or more missing.

When everything works smoothly these are a joy to operate and colossally effective at scrubbing and extracting.

Ok, will do...Thanks to all.. I will wait until I can recruit some help, and I really appreciate all the advice. If i ever get those bottom levers to work I will let y'all know.. I sure do hope I can...I want it to work sooooo bad. I've been agitating in my SQ wringer and spinnin' in the spindrier.. everything gets sooo dry..I just love it.. If i can just get it to drain...sigh...
