I have a problem with my Hotpoint t l, it sounds as if there is something in the machine rubbing against a rubber pipe while the machine revvs up to high spin, its also shudders very violently when the machine brakes its only just started doing this Help

Brakes

Hi Kevin

First simple thing to do is check the agi & filter pan are tight, take the pan off and make sure the screw is hand tight...

Better still take the agi & pan out, and select the machine to spin ....check what happens, does it sound okay??

If its still a problem sounds like it could be the spin brake, either slipped or needs replacing...

Does it change from drain to spin still with the loud "clunk" okay??if it doesnt it could be the clutch, these arnt major problems, spares are still easily available..

Cheers, Mike

Done that

Yeah Mike I did all that, and yes the clunk sounds normal I think something has come a drift. An engineer is booked for the washer, I am not worried as the machines spares are still obtainable, I dont want to part with the machine as the washer is great for my needs. Thanks again Mike
