Help with Hotpoint

Our Hotpoint is driving me nuts, its overly sensitive with the out of balance sensor and i dont mean indesit/hotpoint traditionally oversensitive it is way worse.

even if the clothers are clearly balanced it stops and gets into its out of balance routine, its been on for 15 minutes now trying to balance a load it has already balanced several times and failed to spin, or worse has spun 1st burst and then decides to go " out of balance" again.

as its about to stop distributing and out of balance kicks in, it makes a tiny clicking sound which im assuming is the out of balance sensor kicking in, is there a way to modify or disable this, i really dont fancy paying hotpoint to come out for this to be told theres nothing they will do.

can anyone help me with this before i go insane and bin it.

Welcome to the world of finicky sensors!

I can only suggest a few things to check:

- Make sure that the machine is perfectly level on a firm floor. Ensure that the adjustable feet locking nuts are locked in place. Make sure that there is no diagonal movement (corner to corner).

- Size of loads: you might find that the machine will correctly wash and spin one lightweight shirt, but will object to, say, a smallish mixed load including two bath towels. In that case, increase the number of towels in the load.

My Panasonic frequently takes half an hour to do a ten minute spin. Usual culprits are:

- washing one woollen jumper alone - I had to physically squeeze the excess water out the bloody thing, by hand, before it finally decided to spin.

- washing one or two bath towels along with t-shirts and hand towels. I've had better spinning results with the same load, with 3 or 4 bath towels. Too few, and they bunch up on the same side of the drum. Same goes for jeans.

I was sorely tempted to buy one regarding the woollen jumper fiasco!

We never had half this 'no spin' nonsense in the olden days. They just did it.

I've been wondering what would happen if I removed the '3D sensor' from the tub, and nailed it to the kitchen wall...

Would I now get perfect spin results?

My advice?

Bin that piece of crap and buy a secondhand Miele. My 'new' W2240 just cost me £100 and it doesn't muck about - it just distributes quickly then gets on with the spin (max 1400). However, it weighs about double what the previous (already fairly solid) Bosch Classixx machine weighed...
