Did anyone 'of a certain age' watch that show as I did? Today I went to see a 2 bdr. mobile home to rent in a suburb of Seattle WA and it was like traveling back in time! 2 Marlette double wides, the first one I saw was c. 1979 - ALL Harvest Gold appliances like a fridge, 4-burner stove top and some newer replacements like a dishwasher. I was too busy marveling at the cabinetry and door hardware to notice the brands or models. If that built-in wall microwave was original I would NOT use it. The second "fancier" home was also amazing - some pic posted - newer fridge and microwave and a double wall oven!

Got that 70s "sunshine ceiling" going on in the kitchen. Do they still put those in new houses? We had it in the first house we bought and to be truthful it sure brightened up an otherwise dark kitchen/family room. Not sure but the mw looks like a GE from about the late 70s early 80s

I have not seen the sunshine ceilings in new homes around here, everyone wants recessed lighting. Sometimes people take those plastic panels out and make a "tray" ceiling instead.

Microwave looks like a newer black Kenmore, to me.

They probably originally had the double oven ONLY with a cabinet beneath and the oven up higher.  Then decided to "upgrade" to a built in micro, ripped out the cabinet, reset the oven on the floor of the cabinet, and had room for the spiffy new microwave above.

This kitchen looks rough.

Those round kitchens were a thing then.  Probably trying to make it seem all space-ship like.  The white paint would not have been original.

Those lighted ceilings were called "California Kitchens" in the 80s and were usually an upgrade.  The purpose was to flood the kitchen with diffused and ample light by putting several strip flourescents on the actual ceiling, then building a dropped grid out of ceiling tile channel or wood and putting plexi-glass in.  This also amplified the buzzing of the fixtures transformers.  I found it annoying.  I've had that in a couple of places I lived and put in standard light bulbs in place of the florescents that don't make noise and have the warm incandescent glow.
