Bethann, all I can say is HOT DAYAM!! Your hubby is one lucky guy. Incredible sexy, beautiful woman, and can tinker with appliances!! You could definitely be a Texas beauty for sure. Would the 10 ten super models please step aside for this awesome woman!! (P.S., I'm glad rickr wan't in the pic LOL) Bob

Pets are members TOO :)

As I was looking at everyone's wonderful pics, I looked down and noticed my precious baby boy having a sip of my drink. So I grabbed him and the camera and gave him a kiss. If you're afraid of rodents, BEWARE!! Anyone else care for Petowner pic posting??

"Okay who's left"

I'm not naming any names...other than

DESIGNGEEK
LAUNDRESS

Both persons who are uncharacteristically quiet of a sudden...

Austin, I hope you have Lo-Jack AND a Club on that truck, #1 stolen vehicle in TX (followed by Chevy Silverados). In the rest of the country #1 stolen are Toyota Camry's and #2 are Honda Accords. The rest of the Top 10 stolen cars depends on where you're at. Around here in L.A. you'd better hide any 1978-87 Olds Cutlass (they're the choice of "ride" for the gangs around here)

Hi Rchris!:-)

Aw darn, OK I'll have to go digging for a photo around here, probably get to it some time this weekend.

Me quiet: yeah, worky-work keeping me busy. Geeks work any/all hours. Hey it's 2:44AM and I'm about to eat dinner!

Word of advice...

Gentlemen, the swishier of us need to cool it with the comments about bethann. If she gets wind of the fact that she's making a bunch of gay guys drool, there'll be NO living with her!

Hmm. This is making me think about starting another thread.

As my friend Kirk says (and I agree), I appreciate and recognize beautiful women, I just don't wanna hibernate and snuggle with one.

Designgeek:

Yeah, I know all about the long hours in front of a monitor you and your ilk keep. At a company I used to work for, we would just throw in a piece of raw meat every 15 hours - those coders would go 15 days if you let 'em. Amazing how far Skittles and Mt. Dew (The breakfast of techies!) will take you.

I agree with KM '78 - it's time the Ozzies posted their pics!

Kenmore1978: The good news is, the car has less miles than I do! ;)

Got a great vintage Westinghouse chrome toaster at the thrift store yesterday, an avocado green juice picture w/4 juice glasses, and some great cookbooks (1946, 1957, 1965), and a black porcelain roaster. The PT held all beautifully. Will post a pic of the toaster to try to guess it's age.

Cookbooks...

What cookbooks did you find? I've been watching out for vintage Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks since finding the very first edition from 1930 at a sale. I have a few now, from 1930, 1936, late 40's, 60's, etc. They are fun to find and the changes through the years are very interesting to see. The very early ones had no pictures or illustrations and conversion information for coal/wood stoves.

Greg:

Latest finds

Good Housekeeping Cookbook 1955
Sunset Salad Book 1957
Thoughts for Food 1948
Of Food and Thought 1965

They were $1.00 each, except the salad book, which was 50 cents.

There are a lot of older people in our community who used to do lots of cooking. I'll keep my eyes opened for BHG's.

PT Cruisers

When I first saw PT Cruisers at the L.A. Auto show just before they were introduced, I said to my roommate who was with me "this car is going to be a hit". When I asked the guy how much they planned to sell them for, I said "now I KNOW it's going to be hit" I watched as other people asked about the price and you could see that people were really surprised that it was not going to be very expensive.

FYI, did you know that it's not considered to be a "car" by the government, but the new convertible style IS considered to be a "car"?

PT's

It's actually classified as a "wagon". The convertibles were a bit too small; two doors and a couple of roll-bars made it feel "squatty".

For the price, you can't beat 'em. Mine's a turbo with leather, so mama flies when she hits the road :) When there is a garage sale, I have a need for speed.

Venus - I don't see a lot of GH cookbooks, the BH&G or Betty seem to be more popular around here. The 1st ed. 1930 BH&G cookbook was quite a curiosity for people and at $2, quite a find. Robert has a collection of Betty Crocker cookbooks that is very interesting too...

It's funny all the different things we collect, I've really enjoyed these "off topic" threads!
