Nice pair. GE must not have changed their styling much if these are from around '55 because we had some friends who lived in a house from the early 60's with the same oven and matching cooktop in pink. I hope somebody rescued these but if the seller wasn't willing to come down in price there may not have been any takers. I mean, what might they do with these if they don't sell? Pay someone to take them away? I'd give away something like this if that's what it took to unload them (and ensure that they wouldn't be krushed). It's not like everybody in the greater Twin Cities area is ready to leap on this type of thing, but the seller may be thinking otherwise.
Nope, if they live in the city, they put them out in the alley on the evening before recycling pickup (once every two weeks) and the city krushes them no-charge. Its very convenient for getting rid of stuff.
Wow Robert, that is a great service the city provides. Convenient for the person getting rid of things and also for the collector who knows which nights to go cruising for free stuff. Around here people are lucky if they live in a city that allows you to put anything out for haul-away once per year. We can put out unlimited yard waste in the street every week, huge piles, and unlimited recyclying but we have no large item pick-up unless we want to pay extra.
