Hi. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

My mum recently acquired a Hotpoint Supermatic Plus 9400.
She has wanted a twintub for ages as they were her favourite washing machine. Anyway as usual we've got no instructions and we can't seem to work out how to get the machine to drain the water. Perhaps it's automatic and the pumps gone?

P.S.The water is draining out of the spin dryer part ok

Thanks again

Darryl

Hi Darryl

Do you have the fill hose?

If you do, the rectangular end fits over the fill flume in the tub so instead of recirculating, it just pumps out into the sink.

It's very simple, but if you aren't aware of it it's not something you'd think of, it had me stumped for a while when I got my 9404!

Hope she enjoys her new machine as much as I enjoy them, they really are great machines once you get the hang of them!

Although there are many MUCH more expert than me, even I know this one.

You should have (or will need) a special fill hose that has a squared off fitting on the end of it. This fits tightly over the water re-circulation jet at the centre rear of teh wash tub - this is how you empty the wash tub. You should remove the agitator whilst doing it as otherwise when teh water level falls it will whip up a sudscake. You need to remove the agitator anyway (just unscrew it at the top & remove) to wipe out the tub and let it dry off
