Hi all.

I have returned once more to my favourite internet site. As some of you will know in April I split with my partner and moved back down south. I have not been on as lots was going on and then I never got round to getting my pc connected up again. Well I am now back with my partner as we just couldn't settle being apart and realised how much we meant to each other even though we had the usual arguments etc. Infact he proposed and we intend to get "married" next easter.

Anyway I am now back in Scotland and I also brought up with me the 3 new machines which I made a posting about back in April.

Matchbox Paul - Thank you for your email and I also noticed the couple of hints re the Hotpoint dryer to match the microtronic..lol. Im not going to get anymore machines at present unless I find something very special. I have 2 dryers and one matches the 3060 so I do have a vintage matching pair im very happy with. Although if I was still down south I would have gone for the dryer as it wasn't very far away at all! It came up for auction just after I moved back so it was bad timing. The one which matches my microtronic was the first one you put the picture up of.The surround of the facia was brown rather than silver.

Here is a pic of the new line up and im currently uploading videos of the 1509.

Welcome back Mark! Your laundry's looking even better then ever! Dare I ask which one is your favourite? :-).

Glad to hear everything's been sorted out - and congrats on the proposal :-)

Jon

Hey Jon!

Thanks mate for you message.

My favourite...mmm...mmmm.....I cant decide...I love them all!!

If I had to get rid of one of them I wouldn't have a clue which one.

Mark

That looks fantastic! Love the Hotpoint TL there and what is that FL on the far left with all the buttons? It looks very familiar?

Congratulations on the engagement Mark - really great things turned out sound in the end.

Bad news on the accidental damage to the Microtronic - spares alert all - needed one powder drawer facia for an early 1980s Mictotronic X2000!

Love the laundry room set up - that is just what mine would be like, although there is a bit of empty space above each of those classics. Some more stacking frames needed......just kidding.

I take on board what you say re more acquisitions, although that Reversomatic would have looked great.

Mentioned in the other thread - I seem to remember stumbling across a picture of a 1826 a long while back, but cant remember where. The only piccy I have got of said machine is from the front of the 1978 brochure on the Yahoo group, so it would be great to be able to stash a better image in my library - love me purple Liberators.

Great to hear from you again.
Cheers
Paul

Hi Hoovermatic

The machine on the far left is a Hotpoint Microtronic x2000 from the early 80s. The rear drum plate has 1981 stamped on it. It only has 800 spin (Im guessing as it definately dosn't seem to be 1000) so its one of the earlier microtronic models.

I am SO envious of this set up and I used to live in Luton a few years ago so could have brought my washing around!!

new line up

Very impressive, indeed.
Congatulations on the proposal too.

Aren't happy endings wonderful?

Thanks guys for your nice comments as always (I do love you guys).

Your correct gansky in that I love this space and can play for hours. If Andrew cant find me, all he has to do is come to the garage!

Hi Mark

Great to see you back. What a great line up you have, what a shame you are so far away.

Really pleased things worked out with the BF.

So does the Microtronic do anything different wash/spin wise from the other Hottie's from the time? My 18580 does a basic fast spin of about 5 secs after every rinse and goes to top spin straightaway on the final spin.

Rob

Hey Rob!

Thanks for your comments.

The microtronic is fab. I had one years ago when I first moved out of home but I had completely forgotton what the wash/rinse/spin was like.

It has 3 option buttons on the left which are "Economy" buttons. There is REDUCED RINSES (It does 4 rinses as normal but this cuts it down to 3). ECONOMY LEVEL (This of course is a lower water level). LOWER TEMP (This reduces the temp of the wash but im not sure what to. Im guessing its 40/30 50/40 60/40 85/60 but im not sure).

In the middle are the 4 fascia level push slectors. There is SELECT , START , PREWASH , and CANCEL.

On the right are the 3 "SPECIAL CARE" buttons. They are: SLOW SPIN , BIO POWDER , and RINSE HOLD.

With regards to the wash. You can have a prewash in front of any programme and the machine will spin after the prewash at 500 before the main wash. The wash is the same apart from if you select the "BIO" button. This then fills up and I believe heats to 30 then washes for a short time (havn't timed it yet) then procedes to heat up to main wash temp and goes onto wash.(I think thats what this button does but don't have a instruction manual so not really sure).

When it comes to the rinse it does 4 rinses as standard. In between each rinse it spins up to 800 for approx 20 seconds I think (Havn't timed this yet either)but then it continues to pump out for approx another 15/20 seconds giving enough time for any water and suds to get drained.(I remember on my 18580 it was a nuisance having the pump go off so quickly as not all water was drained before new water was added)I don't understand why they didnt have this system on all the washers. It might be though because your 18580 and my micro are different years but then again saying that my 18580 had the chrome door like the micro so I don't understand why the times are different.

On final spin it does 500 for approx 30 seconds then redistributes and goes straight up to 800 for 4/5 mins. (I really must time the machine).

I do love the look of the 18580 though. I love the 2 big dials being on either side and the buttons being in the middle.

Hi Mark, welcome back, great pictures! It is so fun to see washer "line-ups" from all over the world YAY.

I'm also glad to hear things worked out between you and your partner.
