Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Wow, those are beauties! So smart to put those lights in the panels.
The washer came like that originally since it’s a TOL Maytag A806 from 1979. The dryer is a Frankenstein of sorts since it originally started out life as a 1974 Maytag DE306, ended up getting set off to the side since I had to borrow some wiring off for a Maytag DG407 I restored back in 2019.

Decided it was just better off to put a Maytag DE806 together, however decided to customize it. Put a Maytag DE408 timer in and adapted it to a wiring harness I removed from a Maytag DE407 in an appliance junkyard in Arizona. Even tried experimenting with dual temperatures with a Maytag DE808 console, but that didn’t end up working as intended since it popped the breaker.

Not a true Maytag DE806, but am content with the setup. Allows for flexibility in terms of dryness, can set the timer for 60 minutes for certain types of bedding and will dry it to completion with a exception of spots being just a little damp but otherwise is dry.
