My name is Lincoln and I love washing machines!
I'm 8 years old and live in California.

Attached are photos of my vintage washer (2004 Maytag Neptune Set).
I've only owned them for a month.

It's so cool to find other people who love appliances

Indeed, and an 8 year old doing service on them?
Strict electrical/safety codes come to mind, along with the ability to understand proper procedures.

I wouldn’t worry too much about Lincoln’s ability to follow safety regulations regarding working in electrical appliances. Many kids these days are smart a hell and some mature beyond their ages in their ability to be responsible. I hope that his parents follow the pursuit of his
hobby to be sure that he’s being safe.

And BTW, welcome to AW.org Lincoln! I think you’ll find a wealth of information to hold your interest. I sure wish that there had been something like this for me when I was your age in 1959! Then all I had was the ability to inspect and observe all the washing machines of family and friends and the World Book Encyclopedia.
