I also love Roberts appliance collection-the beautiful colors-the chrome, the diffrent models-all looking like better than museam quality. And the posters and doco on the walls telling about the machines-truely an appliance museam-his private one!So nice. Some of the machines remind me of some of the ones we had or used in the past.also like the big breaker panel box in the corner feeding these!

Nice collection Robert! My favorite is your 1958 Unimatic. Someday I would love to see them in person. Turn the knobs and stuff. I'd like to see the Filtrator.

Yall got some neat!!

Warshers on here ( i love givven a southern twang to the word washer hehe)If only i could have stayed in the states, insteed of comming to BFI, i would have made a phat collection, but i am comming back and plan on regaining a collection again. Keep em warshers goin yall :-)

Beautiful Robert! Just beautiful!! I do like the turqoise and pink together. They just compliment each other so well. Love the way you are able to move your collection around from time to time. Seems that would be a very fun thing to be able to do.
I am sort of "land locked" with my collection, and I only have about 6 washers and 4 dryers. One of the problems with really old homes like mine, is they usually did not have a full basement.
At any rate, it is always fun to see whats going on in your basement, and I always look forward to your latest basement pixs.

Southernisms

Don't forget, y'all, after ya warsh the clothes ya gotta rinch 'em!

Uni, hang on to that Harmony. It might be a classic 30 years from now! (Assuming we can keep the electronics going...)

I sure like the fabulous firsts

Of the "fabulous firsts" did any of those companies make a fully automatic-cycle bolt down before these? I know kenmore, Bendix, Launderall did and how do they fit in - they are kind-of inbetween machines.

Hi Brian, no all four of those machines are those companies’ very first automatic washer, none of them made a bolt down before these machines. For Frigidaire, that is the very first clothes washer they ever made period. Frigidaire never made wringer or twin-tub style washers before their automatic like ABC, Maytag and GE did (at least in the USA). My '47 WJ-60 Frigidaire and the '47 AW6 GE are the only one of those very first models that I know of left in the world, so I really treasure having them. I'm sure there are more out there, they just have not turned up as of yet.

Well it’s in brand new condition because I hardly ever use it. I think the last time I did a load of wash in it was back in March. The only time I ever use it is if I don't want to pay any attention what so ever to the laundry. That will probably just stay with the house when we move sometime in the future.

There is still more in basement to be shown and I will photographic those later.

Great picture!!! Man I forgot about the Wizard...my grandma had a washer made by Wizard (Colorado, sold by Co-op)...I just love watching the floatation rinse...with the agressive agitation...no lid switch!!

You guys are sooo cool!! Brings back many early chilhood memories of my collection during the early 80's (starting at the age of 8) in my parents garage.........

What does "AMP" mean in Maytagenese?
Hi Marty, AMP means Automatic with Pump, model AM was Automatic without pump, it was a gravity drain model. These machines had a solid basket with a perforated liner and a water level switch built right into the lid, a float inside the center of the agitator rose with the water level and press the button in under the lid to start agitation. Very primitive, but it worked.
