hobart question

just brought home a kitchenaid dw mod kds21 superba.. does any one know how old this machine is? and is this one a true kitchenaid or is it one of those whirly kitchenaids? the machine is in awesome shape and im gonna move it into the house for every day use just wanted to know how old she is

Hello there,
This is a Hobart Kitchenaid. It does not say Hobart on the tag?
It is a reversing motor. The second series of the reversing motors. Very good dishwasher.
I think that when Whirlpool started in the game with KA, the numbers would say KUDS 22 and such.

There is a Hobart Kitchen Aid dishwasher that was made in the late 50's early 60's...my aunt had this model...powerful machine....cast iron spray arm...no middle sprayer..

I would sit in front of it for hours listening the thrust of the water spaying...clanking of the solenoid valves for the gravity drain...forced air dry...

Be cool to get one of these to rebuild

i had hoped it was a hobart, the books all say hobart, cool cool,, now the question is since i have 2 superbas this one and a whirly ka should i put the hobart one away and save it for later and install the whirly one or what.. hum the hobar one is in so much nicer shape. have to take pic this eve

all the tags say hobart and i know its got a real hobart motor yeah.. just a little cleaning on the outside and looks great. but i think im gonna save this one for a little while

the tub and racks are like they have never been used.. and its got a cool filter.. so that and having a stainless front im happy

That's a beautiful machine. My friends had one of that generation and not only did it clean well but it was IIRC very quiet. Congratz.

It's beautiful. Is the control area background brown, or is that just the lighting? Does it sound any different than the one you took out? I just love those all pushbutton machines.

This is in mint shape!
This is after the KDS-19 series. I have one of the KDS-19 series that did not have the dryer. Only a fan that dried the dishes. It works great, and without the heated dryer, it is not so bad. I built it as a portable, and use it often. The KDS-19A put back the heated dryer, and it still was the one direction motor with the silionoid drain. (SP) They are great working dishwashers! Very long wash period.
It will be interesting to us when you use it as to how many rinses it has.
I have KDS-22 that looks like yours, and only had the purge rinse, one rinse, and then the rinse with the Jet Dry.
This is a very good dishwasher, with so much life left. I say go ahead and use it! You will love it!

My Mom had the KA 19 Supurba series for 25 years. If you used jetdry the drying performance was good. But if not the drying wasn't that great. For that time it ran for a long time.

this one is gonna go into storage for a while. i put a whilry ka superba in the house and took out an lower line whily ka. the one i took from the house had a timer prob but the motor is good and hate to just throw it out

Beautiful machine you have there. I've always thought that the Kitchen-Aids of that time were the easiest to load, and they seem to be of good quality.
