I am sure that is exactly what the buyer of these machines did. They got down to business!

From the surface picture we could see, these machines look to be in great shape. Of course who knows if there are any problems lurking inside but this style of machine is not impossible to get running again. Parts can be found when you look hard enough although sometimes expensive.

I hope whoever got them will share pictures and stories once they have them. Assuming they were bought by someone in this group.

Whoever got them...

It was I .....2nd in line, offered full price. I felt that there was no reason to offer less, as they were more than fairly priced. If you look for something for two years on Craigslist, and that is the only one you see, it must be worth at least $500.00. (They are to me anyway). The nice lady said they have been stored for at least 15 years, and that they tried the washer, and it worked as it should. I'm sure it will need a mechanical massage.

I am still feeling my way on the machines I did grab. I've been reading, buying literature, (thanks Robert!), and searching for parts. In the meantime, I have powder coated my Youngstown kitchens full kitchen cabinet set and am close to having them installed in my kitchen. I also got the Youngstown dishwasher installed and running. I'm just feeling my way on all of it. My goal is to be all vintage throughout!

Thank you for the update. Your kitchen cabinets sound great. What color did you powder coat them? Would love to see some pictures. Maybe you should start a thread on your kitchen.

As for me I did quite a bit of work over the summer with maintenance on some of my appliances. Mostly replacing belts and a pump gasket and putting a new tub seal into a 1-18, as well as fixing a noisy rollermatic transmission.

Tonight just finished rewiring an old antique half gas / half electric chandelier. I converted the 3 top gas lights to electric as well so now it looks pretty good. As soon as it warms up a little I will resume work on appliance projects in the garage. Looking forward to spring!

Thanks, Pat and Phil(?) for answering my questions. Phil, looks like you have QUITE a Frig. collection; including those space age 1957's!

We still have the green 1954 30" Frig. range in our basement, prob orig. to our house. When they remodeled the kitchen, the previous owners put it down there next to the washer and dryer to use for canning and entertaining. It was replaced by a 1969 40" TOL Frig. range. When one oven, then the other went out, I increasingly used the the 1954. We replaced the 1969 with a rather generic new 40" Frig. which prob. weighs 1/2 what the 1969 did, much thinner metal. Bringing up the old stove was not an option, as when Greg redid the kitchen, he built around the 40" range.

Hindsight being 20/20, now wish I'd looked harder for parts for the 1969, or looked for a cool vintage 50's or 60's 40" range. Perhaps a Flair or old GE is in our future!

Looks Good!

The opening of the dryer looks mint. Plus the fact that they kept the owners manual and it too looks to be in great condition are all good signs that these machines were well taken care of and probably had light use.

Gee, I might have to take a drive south one of these days for a viewing!
