Made in Saudi Arabia?

Oh that will really endear it to middle America housewives, and their husbands! *LOL*

Guess there still is a market out there for wringer automatics, just not enough to interest the big players anymore. Well that and probably their lawyers warn them off out of concerns about injury liability lawsuits.

My experience

with these Home Queen Wringers is not good. A couple of years ago I had decided to blow the money and buy one at Lehman's. At that time there was a Mr. Kerby who was the parts manager but has since been promoted. He demoed one for me after having told me they ARE NOT to be compared with the american made older queens. They make so much noise you can't hear your self think. He told me there are no rubber gromets used anyplace in the assembly so it is all metal against metal for the bolts and parts. Therefore, the vibration noises are loud. He demoed the wringer with a wet beach towel. The wringer would constantly release with no tugging on the towel or wringer. If something smaller was ran through it you could twist water out of the item when it made it out the other side. He used a new model to demo but there were all kinds of them in the shop that had been returned because of noise and wringers not working. They were marked down by 50% but still would not sell. I went down to the store the other day and they only have returned ones in the shop with no new ones displayed. They do however have many NIB in the warehouse. Needless to say I do not own a Home Queen LOL. Just my two cents worth.

To Wringer!

Thanks for the info on the Home Queen wringer washer. I have an Original Speed Queen from 1959 or 1960. I got it through my family. It belonged to my Grandma. I use it every week and have ever since she died in 1981. The machine has everything origional except for new wringer rolls and agitator posts. I need to replace the wringer drive coupling soon. Parts can be bought from Lehmans. The Home Queen a remake of the Speed Queen have inter changable parts. I bought new rolls last week and they are NEW not old rubber but fresh new rubber rolls that are the same as the Speed Queen rolls. The rolls I bought have Speed Queen written in English and Aribic. I thought they would say Home Queen? Anyway these machines last and last. I am 51 and expect my machine to last the rest of my life.... Gary...........
