On the other forum I talked about three of my old Hoovers and posted a link to a new section of my site about them (www.137.com/hoover). In particular, I had been wondering about the bag of the 541 - or more specifically, the way the bag connected to the handle.
The bag is clearly original, a gray sateen bag, but to me the bag top and connecting hardware seemed kinda strange and kludgy and I wondered if it was original.
Then lo and behold a Hoover 541 "Special" (factory rebuilt) has just been listed on eBay, and it appears to have the same kind of connecting arrangement. See eBay link and see my page if you're interested -- I would like to know if mine is original.
