Here's a quick picture thread detailing my latest acquisition, a Hoover A3110.  Such a special machine for me, as mum said when I brought it back home it's the machine that started all, followed by a question of how many hours of my life have been spent in front of one of these lol.

It is in pristine condition inside and out - just needed a quick wipe over and it's come up like new.  The only issue with it is that the timer gets stuck in the rinses - it will stick on an interim spin until you turn it on manually, otherwise it is in perfect working order.

Enjoy the pictures!

Jon

Final shot... once the first load was finished I had to run it through another load :-).

A superb machine, and probably the one I'm proudest to have in the collection.

Hello Jon
Well done on getting a superb machine like all Hoovers of that age they wash beautifully, the programmer problem is a fairly common (mine would stick in the same place, the only way around it is to replace the programmer.
All other service parts, Belts, pumps, door boots, suspension kits, hoses are still readily available

Great machine Jon!

My grandmother had this same model for a short while when she was going through her 'renting instead of buying' a washer phase lol.

The timer ended up breaking on hers which I think might have been me pressing the different cycle buttons halfway through a cycle lol oooops!

Have fun with it!

Congratulations Jon on getting your all time fav washer, great machines, tried & tested construction from the a3060 series...love the orange accents, pity about that timer sticking, but suppose a 30yr old machine is allowed a few quirks - looking forward to seeing it in action....

Heres the Electra version produced for the electricity boards shops which is based on your machine, take a peak inside!!!

Question for you guys... would a hotpoint drain pump fit my A3110? ITs an old hotpoint with no filter in it so evertything passes through the pump.

Hi Jon

The A3110 looks excellent and really is in good condition.

My aunt and uncle definitely had the metal lid version, as it used to protrude from the worktop by a good 20 or so centimetres. Strangely they had narrow units at the back wall - god knows why.

The machine looked great in the ebay advert and has turned out to be so.

Though the years are a bit out by a couple of years, your picture of the A3110 alongside the AEG 971 is oh so very Currys-ish, with the camera at just the right height to give the impression I had as a child, stalking the aisles and dragging relatives behind me! Replace the AEG with an A3108 and it could be late 1981 all over again :-)

You posted the A3110 manual cover....

....here are the rest (bar two!), for the sake of completeness.
