The A3110 looks excellent and really is in good condition.
My aunt and uncle definitely had the metal lid version, as it used to protrude from the worktop by a good 20 or so centimetres. Strangely they had narrow units at the back wall - god knows why.
The machine looked great in the ebay advert and has turned out to be so.
Though the years are a bit out by a couple of years, your picture of the A3110 alongside the AEG 971 is oh so very Currys-ish, with the camera at just the right height to give the impression I had as a child, stalking the aisles and dragging relatives behind me! Replace the AEG with an A3108 and it could be late 1981 all over again
