Wow! That looks incredible--I've never repainted any of mine; I've alwas been too scared of popping rivets apart--but you make it look easy! Congrats! Such a fun little machine!
I left the colour choice to the powder coaters, and I have had even better luck this morning, logged into ebay and did the usual Hoover constellation search and at the top of the list is a floor head with a buy it now option.
It’s the correct one as well so I have bought it, now only one extension tube required.
Cobbled together one of the old extension tube, I had to put a screw in places of the missing pip. I will keep looking for another one I’m sure one will turn up some time.
I am very impressed with this vacuum, it did a grand job of cleaning the up-stairs carpets, we have two dogs and the hairs are difficult to remove, not for this machine, the little rubber fingers on the floor head shifted them with ease.
The brass carbon brush holder has decided to have a go at being the brush.
Some how the brass insert has moved and made contact with the commutator, luckily I noticed the change in sound and switched off saving the commutator from being badly damaged.
Dose any one have a brush holder kicking around? The carbon brush gets stuck now the end of the brass insert had been damaged.
