Hey everyone,
My Hoover Convertible 1020's agitator bearings had their metal washers break, making the endcaps "scrape" against the brushroll. I bought new plastic-washer bearings (the clerk at the Hoover store said they were interchangeable), installed them, and it's STILL making the same scraping noise while running! I tried a ton of different arrangements, like removing the wire clips, reversing the rod that runs through the center of the brushroll, and switching endcaps, but to no avail. After running the machine for 1 minute, it scrapes when I shut it off, and the endcaps feel warm. Am I supposed to grease the endcaps as well?
I also purchased new bearings on the Junior U1025, as they are both missing their washers and causing the brushroll to "scrape".
