Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think the TOL ones are stunning in black. Hence I bought one. Now my Ex is having the pleasure of its use!!

I don't think the BOL ones are too pretty minus the chrome door.

LG F1479FDS5

It says Made in Korea on ours. I like the look of LG washing machines, well it sure does make a statement in the kitchen!

The chrome door isn't available anymore on the steam washing machines as they have the door with the black tint.

They are nice looking machines. Theres something different about them from the others which I like. They stand out.

The Rating Plate

Here is a photo of the rating plate on my LG. No its not an Aprils fools joke, its deffo made in China, lol.

April Fools Joke

I think the joke is calling it a "Fully Automatic Washing Machine".

They could just as easily have called it an "Automatic Washing Machine", which would make it distinguishable compared to, say, a "Semi-automatic Washing Machine" (i.e. a twin-tub).

With "Fully...", I expect the machine to load itself, dose the detergent, wash, rinse, spin, dry, iron, fold, place in wardrobe/cupboard/chest-of-drawers, clean the dishes, put the bin out, wash the floor, and feed the cat.

Not Happy.....

I'd not be happy with buying a Chinese (or even Korean) made appliance given the current global situation. So much of the products we buy are made in China (Clothes, TV's, Kitchen appliances) & it doesn't sit comfortably with me to buy so much from one Country, especially given how much China (and India & Korea) seems to be booming while Europe goes bust.

There's a whole World out there, so in the absence of being able to support the UK appliance sector (as we don't make washers here anymore) i'd want to at least support European jobs.

Ofcourse if you're in the market for an Oven, Fridge-Freezer or Tumble Dryer then you can buy British-Made:

*Ovens - Stoves/Belling (Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, Prescot, Merseyside)
*Fridge/Freezers - Lec (Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, Prescot, Merseyside)
*Tumble Dryers - White Knight (Crosslee PLC, Halifax, West Yorkshire)

I'll certainly be buying from at least one of these manufacturers when i get my next house. It's just a shame that no washers are British-Made.

Dunno.....

Thought i saw some recent ones with Made in Britain on them. Might be wrong though. I knew White Knight's washers & dishwashers were made elsewhere but thought Lec stuff was still British-Made.

I won't be getting one if they're actually a Haier, that's for sure. Will have to have a nosey in some shops and see if i can see any clues to their origin.

So annoying that you can't buy a complete set of British made appliances anymore.
