Hoover Electric Can Opener

I was looking for a nice vintage electric can opener on eBay and came across this. I didn't know that Hoover made electric can openers.

Competition

It's a Rival, not automatic but opens cans and they reasonably reliable.

Most of Hoover's small appliances were rebadged from other makers. The coffee percolator is Presto, this model can opener was Rival's.......

as for other Hoover appliances....

Irons, Frypans, Electric Fans and some Blenders, were made by Knapp Monarch........Full Size Automatic Washers and Dryers were made by Blackstone...I have a sneaking feeling that the Portable Dryers were rebaged Maytag Porta Dryers (they have the filter in the back of the drum just like the Maytag HOH and Porta Dryers do)...PAT COFFEY
