That's a very immaculate Hoover Electron you've found there, looks very nice. So nice, it looks like brand new lol!

I'd have it myself if only I had the room in my house but I'm happy with my Miele.

Although we could spend ages over who should have it, but like I said, it's a good machine and I hope it goes to a nice home. Maybe yours lol!

That is a great looking washer! So cool that you have one.
I agree, someone needs to save it.
Was it reliable?

That was my mother's 2nd automatic which she got in 1986/7. I remember it being rather noisy, particularly when spinning but she liked it. Looks it very good nick for 20 + years old!!

My new toy!

Hi everyone

I decided to bid on this machine and fortunately won it! I didn't want to say anything until it was delivered so not to tempt fate.

I've been after a square door Hoover for sometime and this machine is lovely. It really is in mint condition. It was purchased 10/05/86 but might as well have been this year as it is like new, even inside.

The program is a little disappointing as it only spins on one rinse and goes into wool wash mode at the end of the cotton wash all through the rinsing, but I really am made up about it.

I will get some more pics and scans of the instruction book done tomorrow. I will video it but will not be able to get it on to youtube until I have the right equipment.

Rob - congratulations on the Hoover! Great machines, grew up with them so they're still part of my childhood :-).

Nothing beats the shift of speed from 800rpm to max speed on these Hoover's, especially as the machines go from vibrating to completely still as the machine speeds up!

Hey Rob.

Congratulations on winning such a superb machine. Hoover Electrons are fab! I did have that model once and got it off eBay like yourself. I thought the same with regards to your comments re the program and when it went up to 800, after 2 mins I kept waiting for it to go up 2 1100. Mine was in no way in such good condition as yours. Well done mate.

Mark

Great news Rob - congratulations.

Am very pleased that this overtly immaculate piece of 1980s laundry history has gone to a good home - its always great news when a preservationist acquires a 'bit of kit'. Just wish I could do the same!

Now - a question....

if an A3348 800 electron de luxe or an A3350 1100 electron came up for sale tomorrow, would you want notifying?
Are you aiming for a set or would it be painful teasing?

Enjoy your new purchase - can't wait for the updates.
All the best
Paul

Congrats rob!
I knew abit of time and patience would net you the model you wanted, after many a telephone conversation (and in person) between myself and rob, rob always wanted one of these, so finally glad you got one rob! It was the same for me and my logic. i waited it out and got a beaut!

Cant wait to see more pics/vids. Make sure you get a rinse pic!!!!

Thanks for your comments everyone, I consider myself very fortunate to have such a good machine and a nice bunch of blokes like yourselves.

Jon - you are absolutely right, the machine does shake a bit on 600 and then steadys at 800. Mind you I do need to balance it a bit. Unfortunately no adjustable feet on this one, just wheels.

Mark - Nice to see you back, will contribute to your other threads.

Paul - Thanks for your comments and the pic. Yes indeed another machine has been saved and I can't see myself getting rid of it! I might be interested in a 1100, but will have to see as I would next like a Zanussi like the one I posted about on your ebay thread.

Darren - cheers matey, like you said I would get there in the end.

I will try and get some pics tonight and post them.
