Well today was a GREAT day!

My hoover industrial vacuum came today. Its fantastic and runs like a champ! The white looking stuff on the hood was just some corrosion. It was stored in a kinda moist enviorment. Some rust.

The bag is a very nice, almost original in design bag but it is black and orange in color, rather than black and red, and says to fit hoover.

______
Next! From a good friend in town who collects kirbys!

A MINT condition hoover 33 special in lavender purple. Its all original, with the nice white hoover cord. The lavender snap bag is like brand new. Just a bit dirty.
____
Next a hoover pixie in yellow and brown with a hose.
___

Next! A Tristar CXL from 1988. Its got the hose and powernozzle! One of my favorite vacuums of all!

____

Some day from swestoyz-

1949ish hoover 115 junior in original condition
1949ish hoover 61 in mint condition!
1960ish Hoover model 31 convertible with the switch in the handle bail
1970s ish brown Dial a matic!

Im super excited and just cant wait to get everything all cleaned up.

Pictures maybe by monday.

Pictures!

I had to get my actual camera. Got some pictures of the 913 and convertible 33.

Here is the 913 as it came

the bag. I replaced it with a new old stock blag 91 style bag. Its a little bigger than this one.

Whats cool about this one is its almost like the original. Except its orange.

Running!

Ah its so nice sounding. Very powerful too! The low watt motor is musical, and accompanies the beater action well.

Convertible!

The BEAUTIFUL All original convertible special 33.

The bag is incredible! Not a single wear spot, hole or anything on it! Its brand new pretty much.

The base is a bit scratched. The hood has some red paint scuffs I have yet to remove them.

The cord is mint and original. The handle has no paint wear.

The bag

Ah the LAVENDER is beautiful.

Best hoover bag I have ever come across! Its literally brand new. No dirt or anything.

Blue one

That is a mid to late 1960s Commercial Convertible model 344.

This is my childhood vacuum. I grew up "sweeping" the driveway of my grandparents 1915 mansion.

The vacuum was owned by "The Maids" Company. They were started right out of my grandparents home before they bought it.

The vacuum had sat literally unused for 35 years (thats how long my grandpa owned it) I never got to use it because it was in poor shape.
_____

I took it home a few months ago. Decided since all the paint was gone, and the hood was already repainted long ago, that I would restore it and make it custom.

Odowds vacuum shop here in town totally rebuilt it. He put a new old stock bag on it that is EXACTLY like the original, except it says "to fit" above hoover.

The machine is my best running convertible, and is a close 2nd to my model 28 in awesome sound!

_____
Its not yet finished. I still need to paint the handle bail. I will never ever part with this vacuum!
___
I do have another commercial 344 that is more original with the correct cord, and paint scheme.

Nice !!

BOTH the 913 and the 33 are classics.

You mentioned the sound of the 913. How does it compare with the sound of the 33, which I am more familiar with? I always wondered what that big lug, the 913 sounded like..

sound

Well the convertible is a tad bit loud. All my other convertibles just purr and are very quiet (can talk normally over them) The 33 doesn't sound like bad bearings, just loud in general.

Ive noticed that the earlier convertibles tend to be a bit louder than the later ones.
____

The 913 is quieter than my other convertibles. Probably due to the fact that its at least a centimeter thick all around, and more in some places. The sound is muffled.

Sounds like a convertible just quieter, so you hear the agitator more! Oh its so nice sounding!

I will try and get a video soon.
