Good Morning to all and sundry!
Just wondering whether any of the assorted Twin Tub devotees on the Forum have had any recent luck sourcing Pump Belts of the "Blue Spot" type for your Hoover Twin Tubs from down here in Australia?
Or perhaps instead from somebody abroad who is happy to ship down here to the "antipodes"?
Oddly enough, there seems to be a few suppliers carrying the "Yellow Spot" version of the belt, which from what I can gather is intended for an older generation of Hoover TT's. Googling around for the "Blue Spot"-type part can give misleading results, due to the fact that many online retailers seem to still have the item listed on their websites, but either accompany the listing with a short note about deletion and non-replacement, or tell you when you contact them that the belt in question is no longer available. Sad but true I'm afraid...
A "grounding of the fleet" of the remaining examples of these terrific little units due to the shortage of a non-metallic part like a belt seems like a truly ignominous end for such versatile little machines! But maybe it has much to do with the nature of the belt's construction, which in its spongy/elasticised state is markedly different to virtually every other belt out there on virtually every other washing machine ever made (Dare I say "What were they thinking?...")
Anyhow, any leads or suggestions on the issue would be most welcome.
Many Thanks in advance,
WishyWashy.
