Good Morning to all and sundry!

Just wondering whether any of the assorted Twin Tub devotees on the Forum have had any recent luck sourcing Pump Belts of the "Blue Spot" type for your Hoover Twin Tubs from down here in Australia?
Or perhaps instead from somebody abroad who is happy to ship down here to the "antipodes"?

Oddly enough, there seems to be a few suppliers carrying the "Yellow Spot" version of the belt, which from what I can gather is intended for an older generation of Hoover TT's. Googling around for the "Blue Spot"-type part can give misleading results, due to the fact that many online retailers seem to still have the item listed on their websites, but either accompany the listing with a short note about deletion and non-replacement, or tell you when you contact them that the belt in question is no longer available. Sad but true I'm afraid...

A "grounding of the fleet" of the remaining examples of these terrific little units due to the shortage of a non-metallic part like a belt seems like a truly ignominous end for such versatile little machines! But maybe it has much to do with the nature of the belt's construction, which in its spongy/elasticised state is markedly different to virtually every other belt out there on virtually every other washing machine ever made (Dare I say "What were they thinking?...")

Anyhow, any leads or suggestions on the issue would be most welcome.

Many Thanks in advance,
WishyWashy.

Hi Wishy Washy,

I found it easy to source new belts for my hoovermatic twin tub from Ebay :-) I have the non deluxe model and was able to source a new wash belt, spin and pump belts. I replaced the wash belt but have the others in stock for when I need them.

I also got a spin mat which I needed as mine came without one. It didn't originally have the genuine drain hose but a very kind UK member gave one to me when I visited the UK a few years ago :-)

I'll link to Ebay below where I did a search and see if you have any luck.

Best of Luck,

Matt

I'm just clearing out my late father's workshop, he's been in business fir over 50 years and there's loads of old parts.

I'll have a dig through to see if I can find any. There's at least two TT machines I've found....At one stage he had them hanging from an old nail in the back of the shop...blues and yellows side by side. Lots and lots!!

Dear Gents,

Thanks CrawfordC for that link. They're "Blue Spots" alright, and I might well send the chap an email, but it certainly appears that he doesn't ship down this way normally. He could also be "out" of them too, because they don't always update their websites when they are. He takes Paypal though, which is a good start...

Thanks for the suggestion from over there Matt. The only thing is - there weren't any "Blue Spots" showing up in that search, and I'm a bit iffy about whether the "Yellow Spot" version will do the job. The diameters seem just too different: 110mm for the "Blues" versus 90mm for the "Yellows". In general, the continuing avaiability of the Yellow-spots has had me puzzled for a while, because they're meant for an older series of machines than what the unavailable Blue-spots are...
The "Yellows" could all be "NOS", I guess...(?)

WasherShop, that sounds intriguing. Probably also says something about how often these things go through Pump Belts(!) But yes, please keep us updated...

Best Wishes for now Gents,
WishyWashy.
