Hi guys , as you may remember i am trying to get some belts for my bendix and i thought i'd play with my Hoover Twin tub, as the washing is piling up (even though my mams hottie 9544 is doing a sterling job).

But i remembered i need a new pump for the spin dryer side as mine is very stiff. I have tried greasing it but it seizes up when standing.

So i was wondering if anyone if anyone has one i could buy or knows of one somewhere, as i have had no luck.

I think it is the same as on most Hoover single tubs spinners etc.

Ps if Mike is reading this , did you say to seal the rubber spin seal with silcone? i still havent done this.

Only good thing about not being able to do my own laundry is it comes back ironed from my Mams! ( how good is that!)

Thanks for any help

Richard

belt suppier

Hi ricky, just wondered if you saw the information I posted on on your last thread about your bendix, I was the last to post and the thread soon fell down the list, I ment to add to it to return it to the top of the list again, anyway I hope that will be of help.

With regaurds the hoovermatic, I'll check what pumps I've got, I recently got some unused pump bases but i've not had a chance to see what models they fit. I think the thing with all these machines is they need to be used to keep all the seals flexible. I am also on borrowed time with the resiliant mount on mine, not leaking as such but i avoid any deep rinses in the spinner incase it suddenly gives.

Anyway make the most of your laundry service, and hope you'll be enjoying the vintage washers again soon

Mathew

thanks

Hi Mathew i had missed it but just done a search looking for even older bendix posts i had posted and found your reply. i have saved the website and will look in to it. I also found a website that seemed to have LT spares timers etc so asked them about the belt. I hope its not more serious. Thanks for look about the TT pump, i have a little queue of repairs, the Bendix, TT, and the lux dishmaid ,motor.

Do you have photos of your collection?

Richard

Ricky, did you use grease or oil on the pump shaft? Should be oiled, via a hole near where the shaft enters the pump body. I agree with Mathew, they don't like standing for long periods, but I'm sure we've all done it!

Hope you've been able to source a belt for the Bendix too!

Si
