Glass or not
Woo nice. Good to see glass doors back on a Hoover tumble dryer. I filled in a questionaire sometime ago for Hoover and one of the questions was about should a dryer have a glass door or not. I much prefer to see inside than have a plain door. Indesit Moon take note just incase they come up with a Moon version tumble dryer too lol!

Big dryers are becoming frequent in Europe... it's time that they understand that large washers needs a larger companion during european winters...
But that Hydro Drying system is that the old condensation system, used nowa day's in combo's... with a cold water flow in the condersor unite? What a waste...

I don't often go looking at washing machines in stores but popped into Currys on Saturday and saw, what I think were these new Hoover machines. They look amazing and would definately be in my top three. Saw the Indesit Moon up close for the first time - I liked the concept of keeping it simple for people that can't be a***d with all the knobs and buttons but having seen one I don't think I would like it myself. Saw a new Bosch which seems to have taken the Miele honeycomb drum idea and used it - looks similar anyway.
The one thing that struck me was that the prices of washing machines seem to have come down a lot. They had Mieles with all bells and whistles for under £550.00. That seemed a lot cheaper than usual or perhaps because I don't look around that much I am out of touch with the prices.
There was a Matsui machine in the entrance for about £150.00. Looked very cheap and nasty but you never know. Sometimes these cheap and nasty machines last for years in rental properties where they are subject to abuse!!

It's nice to see a sense of style coming back into washers nowadays! Those Hoover Visions are so stylish, as are the matching dryers... the Nextras in the brochure look so boring in comparison!
Think I'll be off on a trip to Comet and Curry's myself this week, I want to check out the new Zanussis too
Hoovermatic - those Matsui's (and Kenwoods) are Fagors, and from what Darren's told me they're quite good machines... so you never know

It would be great if the hydrodryer could provide a tank of hot water for your next wash load
How much water would that hydrodryer use?
From my perspective, in the part of Ireland I'm in, there's no issue with water supply, so in general it's not a bad option environmentally. I'm just wondering though, in an area with water paid for by the liter/gallon how much it would cost to run.

Ive said before, Im happy how Candy have made Hoover a feature brand, and inseatd of being a b grade generic brand, Hoover makes interesting machines like the Vision! I do wonder about that 9kg drum in a standard cabinet dimension. It seems that Hoover has overcome some space/time continuum or something like that! LOL! I wonder when some smartie is going to put a 10kg drum in a standard cabinet???

Well a small increase in diameter = a much bigger increase in capacity. a 9kg drum isn't all that dramatically bigger than a 5/6KG
capacity = Pi r<sup>2</sup>h
r = radius (half the diameter of the drum)
h = height (in this case depth of the drum back to front)
Small change in r = big change in capacity!
E.g. for a drum of say 70cm diamter and 40cm deep you get 0.154cubic meters
Make the diameter 80cm, keep the same depth and you get 0.201cubic meters!
Doesn't actually occupy all that much space.
The trick is in clever use of the space in the cabinet! The drum doesn't need to be all that enormous.
