Here is the last tine I saw a 1504 generation back in 95. This had the 4 pole motor & large pulley pump.

Hi Andy,

They are great machines and i wouldn't give mine up for the world, it quick, very good at washing and most items come out damp dry !! It also gives the kitchen a slightly retro feel as well.

Thanks for the pics !!
Keith

Mint!

Wow yours looks immaculate, may look out of place to some in todays world, but I think it looks fine. Unfortunatly the one in the image had several gearboxes in it's time, they were almost being changed every 18 months towards the end of it's life. Always oil leaks into the tub, and changing the seals on the box never sorted the issue. A real shame.

I personally have a 15790, and have had it since 92/93 (not in daily use, maybe yearly lol) but would not part with it for anything. Just superb machines =)

Hi Andy.

Thanks for posting your 1504 photographs.

Noting that the machine was outside, had it just been written off, or was it outsdide for repair?

Keiths machine is superb (really does look great in your kitchen, Keith!) and there is one other 1504 preserved, in the safe hands of Richard in Bristol.

Prior to seeing Richards machine in the flesh, the last time I saw one had been the late 80s/early 90s, when daily I would open my bedroom curtains and look across the road.
Down the side of the road opposite was the neighbours pensioned off 1504 OR it could have been a 1518.
It sat there for a good year, before being removed for scrap.

Oliver Hill's design made for a very smart machine.

Just outside for photos before collection to the scrap heap in the sky, I wanted to keep it, but my dad was a no n this one.

Ah well.

Thankfully two of this model have managed to find sanctuary, as preserved machines.
Thanks again for the photos.

Paul
