Hotpoint 18680

Done 3 loads and now puddles, the only thing that needs some attention is the right hand suspension leg it is creaking some times, I think after 20 years it’s justified to have some noise.

great job

Well done Lee, see you've been busy with the chrome polish, both those doors have come up gleeming, you have to love the destinctive timmer clicking and the early pulseing motor controls on distribution. It's always very satisfying to peg out a line of shirts after the first non test run lol.

I secind mathew's comments....

you have been polishing and the result is a gleaming classic.

One of the best, if not the best, variable 18-series preserved and with it being an 18680 a rarer machine too!

It really has cleaned up a treat and that door positively shines.
May it repay your efforts with bucket loads of washday fun.

I have said it before - i will say it again...

Congratulations on a truly superb restoration.

Now back to the project

It’ back to the electronics project I’ve started.

Don’t do dryers as never had one, cost toooo much to run and would have to have it going could not just look at it, I would make one exception for a 50’s flatly.

Biggest job of all is keeping all 3 safe, not from the skip but in general as the garage is not the best place, they will get knocked and dented so will have to be careful and keep an eye for the dreaded rust.

I’ve fitted some din rail for the relays to the back cover by the pump so it wiring time, still not sure about the connections on the speed module I have, so it will have to be trial and error work which might end with a bang!!
