First a bit of a leak so had to strip down and refit door seal, then several attempts to sort the water level to an adequate level just below the door so if it is opened no flooding.

Then the blood camera seems to have lost all the photos except 2, new camera next I think.

First photo of everything back to together.

Second photo, taken at the end of the first heat section of program 2, 60c, I waited till the thermo stop device kicked in (works in reverse on this machine compared to other machines) Reached 56.8c on the digital thermometer, Only reached 56.9c after the last timed heat cycle, not bad.

First interim spin and no banging, I did not know that it would spin at top speed and boy dose she fly, there is some grunt it that motor.

So will have to do some more photos in a week or so.

Leaks,

Is it possible that your leaks were caused by your machine not having the securing flanges around the outside of the door seal to fix them more permanently to the cabinet,

Do you have them? If you dont then you may not know you need them.

THe flange is a black rim of plastic that screws into the 2 holes above and 2 holes below the door seal.

You can just make ours out......

Hotpoint 18680

Hi,

Yes I have them, the leak was on the tub, I forgot to use some washing up liquid when fitting, it dose help seat the rubber. I’m trying to get some new lugs which fit in the back of the front panel to which the screws fit to hold the trims on, they are only to stop the seal front lip from being pulled off.

Hello

I have the 18680 which is one of the machines I have always wanted.
Also have the 95622 which I had really as an fill in for not having 18 ser machine.
Then there is the wm63 for the project which I will go back to now the 18680 is up and running.

Dare not have any more as living with the oldies at the moment and no room, would like to find Hotpoint Liberator.

Looks great Lee.
The pics you have posted of your 18680, has highlighted what the visual difference was between version 1 of the 18680 and the 18580.

the 18580 had dark silver trim round the facia, whilst your 18680 has the bronze from the later machines.

All gone down in my spreadsheet, which i have spent the last few evenings rejigging.

Your machine is lovely. as mentioned before, i am so pleased that such a great condition 18680 is in safe hands.

You will have to take a couple of piccies of it alongside your 95622 - after all the 95622 was the direct replacement for the 18680.

Congratulations.

Will do

Some photos of the next load and put the 95622 by her side, hopefully the painters will have finished the out side of the garage by tomorrow, they think I’m a bit wired as the 3 machines are covered with dust sheets and I told them if a speck of paint or dust gets on them there will be trouble.

Dad’s reply to that was it could be sorted with a skip!!

Dad's reply

Great machine there, mum had the two button version in 1979, but mentioning four letter words like S**p is enough to send heart pulpatations this way.lol

I know the explaining to the decorators one, as a notorious horder, when mum had the new kitchen, explaining why they could not physically get into the garage, and the need to save the old washing machine, the space filled with at least a dozen electric mowers, cleaners, and at that point three washers, along with the usual bikes etc, took a fair amount of laughing at myself.

All the best to with the wm63 project, one day if I may I would like to pick your electronics brain, just about making a speed controller for brush motors in general.

That's the back of my head, working on the hotpoint with aquarius 1984 lol, that one had it's share of leaks too, all covered in previous threads.
