Hotpoint Aqualtis

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The Woolwash action on my Hoover washer dryer is pretty poor, yet it seems to do a really good job.

I love the woolwash action on my sisters Hotpoint WM53, as Jon said, gentle but thorough

the bed and bath cycle washes all the bed linen (3 sets of doubles) and all the bath towels for 4 people in one cycle. it is a 60*c wash, with 5 rinses, the final rinse being very deep. the wash intensity is high, thus meaning the clothes are beaten around a bit. final spin of 1200. it takes about two hours or so..

the wool cycle on this machine is interesting - it fills with water to just below the door, then "static heats" and then tumbles in one direction NOT stopping at all until the end of the cycle. The clothes dont touch each other as they are forced against the sides of the drum during the cycle - the book claims that this speed in 98 RPM for the whole cycle - gets really good when there is a high water level in the drum, as the water is constantly cascading down the door!

i would agree with your comments on not sure about the indesit company.... it upsets me that people actually part with their cash for one of their machines....!!

Looking good :D:D

Hiya, i must just add that your Aqualtis looks great:D i may add it to my list of possibilities as we are getting a new washer very soon lol

Would be great to see some more pics of it, can we have the link to your album please?:D

i would love to make a video but i dont have a clue how to do it!
you would all love the wool wash... fills to half way up the door, then starts to wash at distribute speed for the whole cycle, only stopping to heat the water - loads of water everywhere!!!

Thanx For Those Pics!

I do hope that Merloni have got it right this time with the Aqualtis, I think they have from a styling point of view, Chris, so it goes as well as it looks then? I'm going to deviate now...still sticking on large capacity hotpoints...In all of this Aqualtis talk has anybody ever considered the Extendia with its 8.5kg load? I think they look quite interesting even if they are a bit bland looking. Thoughts guys...

the aqualtis does go as well as it looks - but being hotpoint i wont hold my breath!
the extendia has an interesting feature i noticed in the shop - the detergent dispenser is actually built into the door gasket - i.e. no drawer etc
not sure how it works...

Saj I actually really do like that Extendia - they have them in our local Comet and they are very sturdy on the outside at least; just as sturdy as the Bosch Logixx 9. I do like the dispensers too on it; a good ergonomical position. The Extendia's capacity has also been upped to 9 kilos from 8.5, although the drum size hasn't changed!

Chris; I imagine the dispenser works like a normal dispenser i.e. detergent is flushed through as normal, just there is probably a network of inlet hoses underneath the door feeding the dispenser. I like how the dispenser seals too so that in high level rinses or whatever the water won't get in the dispenser.

Gremlins already!!!...

I've had my Aqualtis 129PI for 2-3 weeks now. Lovely design, so quiet it's eerie; and washes clean but I suspect the gremlins have started to creep in... I put a load of cotton shirts to wash, on the cotton cycle at about 10pm last night. Got up this am about 5.30 and lo and behold it was still on the wash cycle! Going to get support to look into it. Meanwhile where's that ol' scrubbing board?
