Service manual.15
Last one just shows how complex the top loaders are compared to the front loader sisters.

Hi Lee.

Thanks for the service manual scans - just saved them onto my computer, for filing away later.

Final set of pics I think...

What a flaming marvel, grand restoration.

I like the temperature control; it would work just as well on a front loader.
The mechanical load control is also brilliant, don’t use a three step pressure switch just alter its single setting mechanically.

So that’s 4 Amethyst Hotpoint’s in safe hands then?

Have you had chance to do some washing in it yet?

Just that 1828 then!

I'm not an emotional man but...

...it almost brings a tear to my eye! Almost.

Congratulations on another fantastic restoration job. Especially well worth whatever time, money and effort you've invested in the project!

Now then, what bribes are you accepting to stage a test-drive? Hmmmmmm? You KNOW I'm dying to assist! Or has there already been one on the aforementioned May date?

Wow!

Looks amazing. Isn't it great what you can do to rusty machines?
I bet you feel as good as I did when I finished the 3314L. Mind you, this tops that by a few points.
We should start a thread about the machines we restored from rust buckets to as new this year?

James.

Hi Lee.

Had chance to use it? Nah.
Am assured it works, as Mark used it for a couple of weeks after he mechanically sorted it, to make sure it was fit for handing back to me.
As is the case, practicalities prevent it being played with, although it might be brought out in a week or so.
Other problem is that, although Rob has hot and cold water on tap, he is on a water meter. As a result none of the toploaders would ever be a daily driver, as the water costs prohibit it.

Frustrating for me, though I am just glad that it got saved.

Amethyst machines preserved, off the top of my head and apologies if I omit any:

1469 supermatic (John)

1509/01 toploader (dont know his name, but he has a vid of it on youtube!)
1509/05 toploader (myself)
1509/05 toploader (David)
1509/10 toploader (Mike)

1701/01 dryer (many preserved - myself and Rob own 3! and Mike owns one too)
1701/21 dryer (Richard)
1721 compact rear venting (myself and Rob)
1730 compact front venting (Mike)

1828/02 (myself)
1851/03 (yourself - lol)

Think thats it.

Hi Louis.

Many people are owed thanks by this toploader.

Truth be told, I only handed over cash and did some cleaning and polishing.
