Hotpoint Custom Cooker

I know in the 1950s all kinds of accessories were created for many "top end" appliances. The rotisseries, temperature probes, thermostatic surface units, quick heat up, deep wells, griddles and deep fryers were all features added to the more deluxe ranges of the day. I came across this advertisement that was a first for me. Anyone have one these are know anything about it? I has the look of an electric skillet designed to work on a surface unit of an electric range. Seems to have a high dome lid that became more popular a decade later with later electric skillets. Stainless steel or polished aluminum construction?

Cast aluminum skillet base, stamped lid. I have one in cherry condition, the goal of a lifetime of searching. Settings are given for various cooking operations/foods. It was meant for use on the Supermatic Unit. The lid is not flat, but only slightly domed

Have you seen the large party percolator that fits in the Hotpoint deep well?

No I have not.

Amazing the accessories they came up with during that time period. I would not want to the one to have to clean the oven after using the rotisserie! Interesting that once the self cleaning oven was created, most of the oven accessories were phased out. Most likely, it looked appealing, but did not work as well as the advertising made you believe.

I like the idea deep well cooking, when Maytag was in the business of selling gas stoves in the 1940s & 1950s an extensive cookbook was included. Many great recipes and menus were included. With air conditioning deep well cooking seems to be energy efficient. I like the pressure cooking option too. What I have noticed about deep well accessories however is that the gauge of aluminum used was too thin to last with regular use. Funny how we spot these flaws in hindsight.

My '58 Frigidaire has a rotisserie I used often fall and winter and it does not make much of a mess, but I only do chicken.
