Hotpoint Custom Trend Counter-top Range

My brother and I are dealing with the family estate. Unfortunately, its time to liquidate. A number of people we’ve had through the house have commented on this unit so we started to do a little research and came across this forum. This gem has been in our family since it was brand new. It’s in immaculate condition. Is there a market for a piece like this? Even the “counter” it sits on is made by Hotpoint- it has a warming drawer and storage. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Wow John, that units in beautiful condition it is older or slightly older than you are.

 

Your family must not of been too hard on it, these are fairly rare it was a top-of-the-line product in or about 1960 from Hotpoint.

 

We have the exact same unit installed in our museum here in Beltsville, I just baked biscuits in the oven the other day and they come out perfectly it’s a very good performing range.

 

As far as market for it maybe? this type of product since it’s not a conventional size and shape there usually aren’t a lot of takers for that will make a space for it.

 

 As to possible value he could be all over the place you might not be able to give it away you might get somebody to give you $1000 for it who knows.

 

Hopefully somebody will appreciate it.

Thank you for your input, John. You’re exactly right, that range is slightly older than I am! You’re good at this game! While having a “pay day” would be nice, we’d be equally as happy if this unit was on display similar to the one in your museum.

I remember using that range for the wash-in a few years back and it was a great performer and I loved the counter top design!

I remember seeing that in a video on YouTube called Wash In Cook In at a small get together back in August of 2019.
