My boyfriend's parents have a Bomann WT6011 one of their sons left them behind when he moved.

That was their main dryer until a few days ago when it stopped heating.

The father changed the thermostats, no change.

So I metered the heater and it was dead.

So I thought that this is an Indesit made dryer.
Checked the model and serial number through the Austria Indesit webpage and bam it was shown as affected.

Funny you could just enter the Bomann model number.

Filled out the form, so let's see what's going to happen.

Even if they get one of those cheap Bauknecht replacements that fail after a few months and then they deny warranty service on, they still got a few months till they have to plunge for a new one.

I still can't believe that Indesit/Hotpoint allowed it to get to this stage in the first place. A responsible manufacturer would have taken notice of the faults early on, and modified accordingly. They didn't, and actively allowed dangerous machines to go on sale. Not just the deadly tumble dryers, but also the under spec'd washing machine door interlocks.

And I hold Whirlpool thoroughly responsible for constantly failing to get to grips with the recall/replacement/compensation situation.

I can assure you that because of this fiasco, I'll never touch Indesit, Hotpoint, Whirlpool, or any of the secondary brands, Bauknecht, Creda, Ariston, English Electric. They're not to be trusted.
