Does Your Automatic Washer...

Tell You Its A "Liberator"...yay, well done to you Lee for all your effort, what a fab restore..looks ready for the maiden wash, are we all coming round with our laundry then??

As the powder draw doesnt have any letroset stencilling why not try the bleaching technique to lighten it, nothing to lose on this one!!

I love these old washers with the baseplate, we should rig one up with clear sides to watch the action, theres your next job..LOl

Enjoy, Mike

Hi Lee.

It looks absolutely stunning!

What a superb restoration job has been achived.
The finish looks great. What do you think of it? Is it exactly what you had hoped for?

I am interested because my Indesit L5EGB (acquired from Dom a number of months ago) will need a similar treatment to get back to how it was when it rolled off the line.

It really does look a treat. Re the powder drawer - you leaving it as is, or plan to respray white in the fullness of time?
The powder drawer is where you are lucky, in that you dont have any words to worry about, unlike myself with the 1828/02.
I am 99% sure that the 1851/03 would have had a blank powder drawer facia, as all the wording appears on the main panel sticker.

Either way you win - leave it as it is - looks great. Respray it - still looks great.

Congratulations - you've got a Liberator again!
Roll on the testing.
Paul

Thanks folks.

Mike,
I have toyed with the bleaching of the powder draw as you pointed out nothing to lose. Once the base was on and on her feet I did think, clear Perspex sheets for the sides and top, but I could not do that, would not be right, but if some thing else was to come along it may get that treatment.

Maiden wash in a few days, I have a felling it not going to run smooth to start with and will require some fine tuning, especially the water levels.
